‘Seed’ Grant
To expedite advancement toward the '30 by 30' vision, it is essential to create innovative and potentially groundbreaking solutions. The 'Seed' grant initiative acts as a foundation for generating knowledge and fostering discovery science by providing research and development (R&D) support in areas with lower Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
This grant initiative by SFA aims to investigate innovations that reinforce existing capabilities and knowledge related to food security. It also seeks to bolster resilience against unforeseen needs and emerging opportunities. Researchers, technology providers, and potential adopters are encouraged to collaborate on developing inventive solutions in the domains of aquaculture, sustainable urban agriculture, future foods, and food safety.

'Research Translation' Grant
The potential for growth and advancement in Singapore's '30 by 30' food security vision lies within the aquaculture, agriculture, and future food sectors. The key to strengthening Singapore's capacity for local and sustainable food production, resilient to climate challenges, is the adoption of innovative technologies.
In this grant initiative, SFA is in search of solutions that can elevate the productivity of local food producers beyond the capabilities of current leading technologies. Collaboration among researchers, technology providers, and potential adopters is highly encouraged to pioneer solutions that bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical applications with tangible industry impacts. These solutions should consider factors such as commercial viability, cost-effectiveness, resource efficiency, sustainability, and climate resilience.
